The Wizard of Oz tackles 'Human Rights'

The Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz has been engaged to tackle some powerful issues in this year's 'Human Right's Day' in Melbourne.

For those of you in Melbourne, we have four days of outdoor activities starting on Friday. This year Human Rights Day is on Monday December 10 and Multicultural Arts Victoria will recognize and celebrate this day over the four days reflecting the voices of the young people, expressed through their own voices and the imagination of street and contemporary live artists.

A living art display will pop up as an outdoor 'living room' at Signal.  Featuring several couches transformed on-site by street, visual and installation artists inspired by young people and their ideas and perceptions on human rights. These couches will be created and evolve right before our eyes and you can travel from couch to couch experiencing a series of live art acts where each couch is a stage and where performance artists respond to the voices of the youth.

One of the short performances, tackled by yours truly, shall feature some prominent Australian politicians performing in the legendary fantasy The Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz. The performance times are:  Friday 7 Dec at 8.15pm; Sat 8 Dec at 4pm; Sun 9 Dec at 1pm and Mon 10 Dec at 1pm. Entry FREE. For directions, click here!
