A meeting with Puppeteer Journalist, Toni Rumbau

During the recent 21st UNIMA World Puppetry Congress and Festival in Chengdu, China, I had the privilege of meeting up with Catalan puppeteer and journalist, Toni Rumbau.  Toni is the editor of three new online international puppetry publications, Putxinel-li (Catalan), Titeresante (Spanish) and Puppetring (English). Puppetring is a space for meetings and sharing, for exchange and reflection about puppetry. It embraces modernity and tradition, up-to-date news regarding puppeteers and articles of in-depth analysis and reflection.  Puppetring is aimed at puppeteers, the public, academics, directors and programmers of festivals and theatres and also amateurs, teachers and anyone interested in the art of puppetry.

Toni and I have recently talked about collaboration between Puppetring and Puppetry News. Our meeting in Chengdu was the culmination of these chats and the first time I got to meet him in person. He does a wonderful job with his publications. You can check out Puppetring here.
